This is a chance to talk and transform. To be a part of a discussion that can reflect your struggles and shift your outlook. Together we read and discover each other.
Camano Island, WA
We read and come alive, exploring outside the realm of self into the thoughts and experiences of other. Through reading, we enable understanding of self to more fully emerge out of the unconscious and into the light of awareness and being. Whether we are reading a self help book or a great fiction novel, we have the opportunity to be alive in extraordinary ways outside of our own mundane way of living. By sharing these new edges with each other, we give ourselves an opportunity to find new depth, come out of hiding, and express in new ways.
Join in reading Tribe: On Homecoming and Belonging by Sebastian Junger.
"Combining history, psychology, and anthropology, TRIBE explores what we can learn from tribal societies about loyalty, belonging, and the eternal human quest for meaning. It explains the irony that-for many veterans as well as civilians-war feels better than peace, adversity can turn out to be a blessing, and disasters are sometimes remembered more fondly than weddings or tropical vacations. TRIBE explains why we are stronger when we come together, and how that can be achieved even in today's divided world."
We will meet and discuss the impact of the book on ourselves and what new and emerging awareness has come to life in us a result of reading it.
